2022 – A Year in Review

It may be hard to believe, but 2022 is over! Let’s pour out the champagne and ring in 2023 in style. The new year is the perfect time to look back on all that has happened in 2022 and appreciate what a wonderful year it has been. And for All Around Sound, wonderful is definitely an understatement!

2022 was both a successful and a busy year for us. We were able to participate in weddings, graduations, socials, Christmas parties and more after two years of COVID restrictions. This alone was a highlight of our year. And while we were so happy to provide our services to many new people, we were FINALLY able to DJ events that had been continuously postponed from 2020! Some of these couples waited years to be able to tie the knot and we were so happy to have been a part of their extra special moments that they waited so long for.

Throughout the year, we got to visit new venues, meet new industry leaders and share in so many celebrations, it was incredible for us. I think our highlight event of the year was DJing for Chickendaze in Oakbank, Manitoba! This event was huge and drew in thousands of people. There was a midway, contests, food trucks galore and entertainment of all kinds. We worked with the amazing Wayne Hlady to set up and run sound for the event, introduced an array of talented musicians, Jerrod played on stage with Ben as Prairie Heart and we played music in between it all. We are really looking forward to participating in it again next year!

In September of 2022, we were selected as one of the top 5 DJ’s on a website called “Best in Winnipeg”. This is thanks to our continuous 5 star reviews. Shortly after that, we were the recipient of the 2022 Springfield Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award! Being recognized for our hard work and dedication has made our 2022 feel extra special. We are honoured!

We have yet another reason to celebrate 2022. This was a monumental year for us, as it was All Around Sound’s 5^th Anniversary! When All Around Sound first started out in January of 2018, we had only DJ’d about 5 events in total throughout that year. In 2022, we had over 90 events! It is amazing to see All Around Sound grow and evolve over the years, we are already booking up quickly for 2023! Bringing amazing entertainment to so many events has been such a pleasure.

Enough about us already… Did you know 2022 was also a great year for music!? Many popular artists released new albums, nostalgic 80’s hits became popular again, and brand-new artists appeared on the charts. Prominent artists such as Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, and Taylor Swift as well as new artists like Gayle, Olivia Rodrigo, and Steve Lacy all dominated the billboard charts. 2022 gave us a unique year of music influenced by online apps like Tik Tok, Blockbuster movies such as Top Gun, and dance trends seen all over the world.
