Top Mother-Son Wedding Dance Songs

​I think the mother-son dance is a little underrated. As a mom of 2 sons, I certainly CAN wait until their wedding days (my babies are growing up too fast!) but to share a special dance with them on their wedding day will be a moment to cherish and one I do look forward to.
​ I am still a “newer” mom, and since becoming a mom, I have a whole new appreciation for my own mother and moms in general! Wow do we ever go through A LOT when we become mothers! Although the mother-son dance is a newer tradition at weddings, it is certainly deserved! So why isn’t the mother-son dance more of a highlight at a wedding?
The focus is being shifted from the bride (she is the prize and highlight of the wedding of course!), and where usually a lot of attention is paid to the parents of the bride (Yay! They’re giving their daughter away!), or even just the fathers (men… you feel me?), the mother of the groom can sometimes feel a little lost at the sidelines. But this is the time for the groom to focus solely on and appreciate his mom. And for everyone else to reflect on the huge role she has played in her sons life who has now become a husband!
Picking a song for the mother-son dance does not have to be too tricky. There are a few things that you might want to consider, but really, you just need to chose a song that you and your mom both like! It doesn’t even have to be a song ABOUT mom’s, but maybe a thank-you song, a song that you and your mom both enjoy listening to, or a song that has some good wisdom behind it that you can picture your mother sharing with you. Don’t be afraid to ask your mom for some advice or input into the song, she may have the answer if you are struggling on your decision.
